Folks around here know that River Bluff High School is a gem. Now it’s official! River Bluff (our local Lexington District One high school) has been named one of three 2019 Palmetto’s Finest Schools.

River Bluff opened in 2008 to serve students in grades 9 through 12. It is known for an innovative, student-centered learning system. Students make decisions about their day, managing their time based on a flexible modular schedule. The school was the first in South Carolina to adopt a teaching and learning model called EL Education. It promotes self-discovery, the natural world, diversity, service and collaboration.

The Palmetto’s Finest Schools award is given annually by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. Congratulations to this extraordinary school and to principal Luke Clamp, who was previously selected as 2019 National Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
