Here’s What’s Happening Around the Neighborhood this Month

Yoga Class at the Village Club Fridays at 10am 
Join your neighbors at the Village Club for Yoga with Allison Coulter starting this Friday at 10am.  Alison is an advanced 500 hour yoga alliance certified yoga teacher.  This class will be an all levels yoga class in the downstairs area of the Village Club.  If numbers grow we will move to the Chickawa Outdoor Center which provides a larger space accommodating more people. Some experience is helpful but not necessary.  The class will be structured so that everyone can enjoy the many benefits of yoga. Each pose has variations, allowing everyone to do the class at a level that suits them.

AquaFit Class at the Village Pool Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6pm 
Join your neighbors at the Village Pool for AquaFit classes.  You can knock out your cardio AND strength training all at once!  We meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6pm at the Village Pool.  Recommended (but not necessary) items include a pool noodle, foam dumbbells, aqua gloves & aqua sneakers.  And of course plenty of water to rehydrate!!  Please text Jen at 803-800-9189 with any questions.

September Activities:

Tuesday 9/10 PO KE NO at the Village Club 7pm
Is anyone interested in getting together on the second Tuesday of each month for a fun game called POKENO?  It is a combination card/bingo game requiring no experience or skill – just a simple fun excuse to get together.  We voted and are opening this up to everyone – not just the ladies!  If you want to try it or play again bring $5.00 per person to the Village Club House on Tuesday, September 10th at 7:00.  Cash prizes will be based on the number of people playing.  Also bring your beverage of choice.  Please RSVP to Linda at cvmcclung@gmail.com. because we are limited to 24 players.  Hope to see you on the 10th!

Wednesdays 9/11, 18, 25 Men’s Bible Study at the Village Club 6:30-8pm
The study is for all levels of Christians and specifically for anyone who wants to learn, no matter his knowledge base or spiritual situation.  New Christians and searchers are especially welcome.  This will be non-denominational in format with special attention paid to differences in theology, if necessary.  The classes will be as intense as the class desires.  The goal is to grow in Christ.  If interested, please contact Eldon or Mike, or just show up. Thursday 9/12 Ladies Meet & Greet at the Village Club 7pm
Ladies Meet and Greet is the second Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage, a small snack to share, and mingle with your neighbors!

Saturday 9/14 Coffee & Coverage at the Village Club 8am-12pm
Neighbor and Family Heritage Representative, Tom Hickey will be available to discuss supplemental coverage for cancer, heart attack and stroke, accidents, and ICU coverage for SRC residents. Family Heritage plans are guaranteed renewable. The plans include No Lifetime Limits and Return of Premium benefits. Saturday 9/14 Community Market at the Village Green 9-11am
Get your goodies ready. Feel free to set up your own table, invite others, or come shop and mingle with neighbors.

Sundays 9/15, 22, 29 Ladies Bible Study at the Village Club 6:30-8pm
Please join us for our Bible Study at the Village Club on Sunday nights.

Monday 9/16 Adult Board Game Night at the Village Club 7pm

Tuesday 9/17 Ladies Bunco at the Village Club 7pm
Come for a night of fun with the ladies of SRC who get together on the 3rd Tuesday of every month to play bunco.  We start arriving @ 7pm and play till 8:30. Thursday 9/19 Men’s Night POKER GAME at the Village Club 7pm
POKER GAME!!!  Lose a few old presidents & win some new friends.  Low stakes, High fun.  No experience preferred.  Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.

Friday 9/20 Boomers & Beyond Social at the Village Club 5:30pm
Boomers (both singles and couples over 50) meet at the Village Clubhouse the third Friday of each month at 5:30pm.  Bring an appetizer to share and the beverage of your choice. If you would like to play left, right, center, bring three one-dollar bills per person.

Saturday 9/21 Fall Yard Sale 7-11am
Get rid of some things you don’t need and make a little cash!  We’ll place an ad in The State Newspaper, post the event on Facebook, and place a sign out at the front of the community.  Just bring your tables to the Village Green lawn.  Or, set out your things at your house.

Tuesday 9/24 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
The book club will be reading, “IDAHO” by Emily Ruskovich.  Book club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month.   Come share your thoughts on the latest book and give ideas on future reads.  If you have any questions you can contact Pat Cronin at 803-521-9138 or email at croninp32@hotmail.com.

Saturday 9/28 Wine & Swine 5K at SRC 7:30-10:30am
Through a partnership with Wine and Swine we are excited to offer another SRC Road Race/5K.  Additional Details are below in the Facebook event page with details on where to register or search Event Bright. Please be sure to register by September 1st.  100% of the racer fee goes to Camp Kemo !!  We are looking for corporate sponsors for this event if you or your company are interested please reach out to Rob Carruthers or April Donley at 803-507-2583.

Community Involvement:
