Recently, South Carolina moved up to #7 on Chief Executive Magazine’s list, “CEO opinion of best and worst states in which to do business”. This is exciting news for Saluda River Club, located just minutes from the largest city in the state, Columbia.

The survey included responses from over 650 business leaders grading the states based on several factors from the quality of living and work environment to taxes and regulations. A recent article featured in the Columbia Regional Business Report notes that “most of the states in the top 20 are also right-to-work states… Several economists have found that the economies in R-to-W areas grow faster than other states, have higher employment and attract more inward migration.”

South Carolina has consistently moved up on the list in the past couple of years. Ranked number 10 in 2010, number 8 last year and now number 7 speaks volume about the workforce and business in the state. At Saluda River Club, we are excited to see such a positive response to doing business in our great state and lucky to be so close to such a major hub in South Carolina.
