River Bluff High School, the new high school Saluda River Club’s residents will attend in fall 2013, recently announced their colors and mascot. The school colors will be dark green and Vegas gold. The mascot was voted on by over 1100 students at the January 2012 Board Meeting and the winner was the Gators.

The new school, slated to be completed and open for classes in August 2013, is using sustainable resources and design. In the news for using existing soil from the school’s location to create the bricks for the exterior, “River Bluff Red” brick adorns the facade of the building that is currently under construction. When completed, the school will be a state of the art collaborative learning environment. Based on the philosophy that unstructured schedules evoke time management skills and personal responsibility, the school will be a fresh approach to individualized learning.

River Bluff High School will include two centers for advanced study available to juniors and seniors, the multi-media arts, design and production center and the law and global policy center. The fine arts department will include several options for students interested in music, theatre and other arts as a well-rounded athletic department for both boys and girls. Get ready to cheer them on – Go Gators!
