Here’s What’s Happening Around the Neighborhood this Month
Swim Lessons with Annie Suarez at the Chickawa Pool July 8th-12th & July 15th-19th
Annie Suarez has been apart of the Columbia swim community for about 20 years as a competitive swimmer, life guard, swim instructor, and assistant and head coach.  She teaches at River Bluff HS and is one of the varsity swim coaches.  She has been at RB for 4 years.  For the past three summers she was the head coach for Topspin Summer Swim team and for the past 10 years she has given swim lessons to all ages and levels.  Swim Lessons will be held the weeks of: July 8th-12th & July 15th-19th for ages 3 and up.  Please contact Annie Suarez directly at amsuarez@lexington1.net to book a lesson.  

Yoga Class at the Village Club Fridays at 10:30am
Join your neighbors at the Village Club for Yoga with Allison Coulter starting this Friday at 10:30am.  Alison is an advanced 500 hour yoga alliance certified yoga teacher.  This class will be an all levels yoga class in the downstairs area of the Village Club.  If numbers grow we will move to the Chickawa Outdoor Center which provides a larger space accommodating more people. Some experience is helpful but not necessary.  The class will be structured so that everyone can enjoy the many benefits of yoga. Each pose has variations, allowing everyone to do the class at a level that suits them.

AquaFit Class at the Village Pool Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6pm 
Join your neighbors at the Village Pool for AquaFit classes.  You can knock out your cardio AND strength training all at once!  We meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6pm at the Village Pool.  Recommended (but not necessary) items include a pool noodle, foam dumbbells, aqua gloves & aqua sneakers.  And of course plenty of water to rehydrate!!  Please text Jen at 803-800-9189 with any questions.

Tuesday 6/25 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
The Book Club will be reading for June, “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie.
Book club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month.  Come share your thoughts on the latest book and give ideas on future reads.  If you have any questions you can contact Pat Cronin at 803-521-9138 or email at croninp32@hotmail.com.

Wednesdays 6/26 Men’s Bible Study at the Village Club 6:30-8pm
Men’s Bible Study will not meet July 3rd.
The study is for all levels of Christians and specifically for anyone who wants to learn, no matter his knowledge base or spiritual situation.  New Christians and searchers are especially welcome.  This will be non denominational in format with special attention paid to differences in theology, if necessary.  The classes will be as intense as the class desires.  The goal is to grow in Christ.  If interested, please contact Eldon or Mike, or just show up. Thursday 7/4 July 4th Celebration:

1st Annual July 4th – 5K – Starts 7:30am
If you would be interested in participating in a July 4th 5k run/walk at SRC, please text April Donley directly for registration details at 803-507-2583. We need 20 people to be any official race.  The cost is $20 (includes a finisher medal and race bib).  Only paid racers will receive a bib and medal, but everyone is welcome to participate.

July 4th Water Balloon Fight at the Ball Fields 10am 
Please join us for a lot of family and fun to kick off a fabulous Fourth of July weekend!!  We will have three different fights (first one starts at 10am)
Top soccer field area for kids 3 and under, then children ages 3-5, and finally age 6 and up & ADULTS  fight to wrap it up in biggest area.  Please plan to bring your own balloons.  POPSCILES and drinks for kiddos will be provided while we all clean up!!

July 4th Golf Cart Parade 11am – Decorate your Golf Cart for the 4th and line up before 11am behind the Information Center for a Golf Cart Parade through SRC.

Slide your way into July 4th at the Ball Fields 12-9pm
Please join us at noon in the ball fields to continue to enjoy the day with water slides, water guns, and slip & slides throughout the day until 9pm.  Bring your Tents, Chairs, Coolers, Snacks, and Picnic so we can enjoy ourselves throughout the day! (All sliders will be required to sign a waiver.)

Friday 7/5 Adult Social at the Village Club 7pm
Adult Social is the first Friday of every month.  Bring your favorite beverage, a small snack to share, and mingle with your neighbors!

Sundays 7/7, 14, 21, 28 Ladies Bible Study at the Village Club 6:30-8pm

Monday-Thursday 7/8-7/11 Sports Galore Camp (ages 2-6)
Activities include volleyball with beach balls, balloon tennis, noodle hockey, bowling, soccer, basketball, and much more.  Each camp will meet both on the Riverfront and inside the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  The cost for each camp is $70/child/week.  All campers must be potty trained.  Each camp is Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm.  Kids are to bring a snack and a water bottle every day.  Please emailactivities@saludariverclub.com to reserve a space for your child.

Thursday 7/18 Men’s Night POKER GAME at the Village Club 7pm 
POKER GAME!!!  Lose a few old presidents & win some new friends.  Low stakes, High fun.  No experience preferred.  Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.

Friday 7/19 The Blue Iguanas Band at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 6-9pm

Friday 7/19 Boomers & Beyond Social at the Village Club 5:30pm
Boomers (both singles and couples over 50) meet at the Village Clubhouse the third Friday of each month at 5:30pm.  Bring an appetizer to share and the beverage of your choice. If you would like to play left, right, center, bring three one dollar bills per person.

Monday-Thursday 7/22-7/25 Circus Camp (ages 2-6)
Activities include tight wires, stilts, juggling, face painting, and much more.  Each camp will meet both on the Riverfront and inside the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  The cost for each camp is $70/child/week.  All campers must be potty trained.  Each camp is Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm.  Kids are to bring a snack and a water bottle every day.  Please email activities@saludariverclub.com to reserve a space for your child.

Activities include bocce ball, corn toss, frisbee, beach tennis, flip cup, ladder golf, washer boards, beach ball volleyball, and pool games.  Each camp will meet both on the Riverfront and inside the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  The cost for each camp is $70/child/week.  All campers must be potty trained.  Each camp is Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm.  Kids are to bring a snack and a water bottle every day.  Please email activities@saludariverclub.com to reserve a space for your child.

Community Involvement:
Rotary Meetings – Do you know Rotary?  This civic organization has impacts both worldwide and right here in Lexington!  Feel free to come and join us every Friday morning at 7:30 am at the Holiday Inn on 378 and I-26 (across from Lexington Medical).  We have local speakers, a great fellowship and breakfast is on the house to guest!  Contact Angela Leon @ 803-407-6262 for more information.
