Here’s What’s Happening Around the Neighborhood this Month:

October Activities:

Tuesday 10/16 Ladies Bunco at the Village Club 7pm
Come for a night of fun with the ladies of SRC who get together on the 3rd Tuesday of every month to play bunco.  We start arriving @ 7pm and play till 8:30.  Bring $5 for the winners pot……never played, don’t worry, there are a few veterans to teach the rules and get the games started.  For information you can contact Pat Cronin @ 803-521-9138 or Jean Dyson @ 803-429-2349.

Thursday 10/18 Men’s Night POKER GAME at the Village Club 7pm 
POKER GAME!!!  Lose a few old presidents & win some new friends.  Low stakes, High fun.  No experience preferred.  Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.

Friday 10/19 Boomers and Beyond Halloween Event at the Village Club 5:30pm 
The Boomers will be celebrating Halloween on our regularly scheduled party date, October 19th at 5:30pm at the Village Club. We will have nibbles, pizza and salad.  Bring the beverage of your choice.  If anyone would like to contribute a dessert, that would be appreciated.  The cost is $15 per person.  Please pay Steve and Mary Cauthon at 546 Bimini Twist Circle, (317-409-8547, quiltmom007@aol.com) by Tuesday, October 16th. Please bring CASH or CORRECT CHANGE.  Costumes will be fun, but not necessary.  If you’re interested in looking for a costume, there is a Halloween store in the old Toys R Us store and also on Bower Parkway near Dicks Sporting.  We will also play left right center so don’t forget three one dollar bills per person.  Thanks to Mary Cauthon, Nancy Krebs, and Brenda Gentzler for organizing this party for us.  Hope to see you there.

Saturday 10/20 Block Party & Chili Cook-Off in the Woodlands District 5pm
Whip up your favorite chili in a crockpot and join your neighbors for a Block Party & Chili Cook-Off in the Woodlands District from 5-8pm.  We’ll be awarding gifts card prizes at 6pm for Best Chili and Unique Chili.  BYOBeverage & Food to share.  We are going toTRY and get a game of  “Left Right Center”, please bring 3 $1 dollar bills if you want to play!! 

Sunday 10/21, 28 Ladies Bible Study at the Village Club 6:30pm
We are starting a new bible study series Seamless – Understanding the Bible as One Complete Story and would LOVE for you to join us!  The study guide can be purchased locally at Lifeway or online.  Please note that we are moving the study to Sunday nights instead of Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm.  If you are new to the neighborhood this is a great place to meet some really amazing ladies!  You are also welcome to invite other people outside of the neighborhood…The more the merrier!  Please contact Dara Hearn (843)478-9736 dhearn08@gmail.com with any questions.

Friday 10/26 Halloween Party Casino Night at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 7:30pm
Halloween Party Casino Night at the Chickawa on Friday October 26th from 7:30-10:30. BYOB and an appetizer or dessert to share if you would like. Everyone attending will receive $25,000 in chips and at the end of the night chips can be redeemed for raffle tickets to win gift cards. There will also be 2 gift card prizes for male and female best costumes (no theme just a costume party). Costumes are highly encouraged but not necessary! Depending on how many people respond, the games to play are Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, and Texas Holdem.  The cost per person is $32.00. Payment is expected by October 17th to Taylor Jeffcoat via PayPal (tayjeffcoat@hotmail.com) or Venmo (@Taylor -Jeffcoat-1) or in an envelope under front porch mat at 236 Shoalwood Drive.

Tuesday 10/30 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
The book club will be reading for October,  “Where The Cawdads Sing”, by Delia Owens.  Book club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30pm on the last Tuesday of the month.   Come share your thoughts on the latest book and give ideas on any future reads.  If you have any questions you can contact Pat Cronin at 803-521-9138 or email at croninp32@hotmail.com

Wednesday 10/31 Pizza Party at the Chickawa Outdoor Center from 5-6:30pm
Decorate your Golf Cart, put on your Halloween Costume, and join us for a Pizza Party at the Chickawa Outdoor Center before Trick-or-Treating!  RSVP to activities@saludariverclub.com.

Coming in November:
Sunday 10/18 Holiday Market at the Chickawa Outdoor Center from 1-5pm
Calling all neighborhood vendors…this year’s Holiday Market is scheduled for Sunday. November 18th from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. If you’re interested in participating please email srcholidaymarket@gmail.com.  We’ll open the market up to community vendors on September 15th. Whether you’re a vendor or a shopper this event is always a lot of fun and a great way to knock out some of that holiday shopping while supporting the small businesses in the community.

Sunday 10/18 Fall Mini Sessions by Lili Walker 3pm
SRC residents only with special pricing!!  Many of you know Miss Lili from Pilgrim Community Preschool, she is also an awesome photographer!  If you want to get some great family photos perhaps for your Christmas cards or picture frames in your home, you need to jump on this opportunity!! Spaces are limited.  Email liliannevictoria06@gmail.com.  $150.  15 minutes, 20 edited images, and online gallery.

Coming in December:
Monday 12/3 Custom Shopping Event at the Village Club from 6-9pm
Come and get your holiday shopping done for your husband-we are bringing our BP Skinner store to you!  We will have the store merchandise at the Village Club on December 3rd from 6-9pm.  Find the perfect gift for him, and we’ll even gift wrap it and deliver it to your doorstep.  Shopping for your husband has never been easier.
