“The Village Green is basically an extension of our home,” says mother of three Leslie Glad. One of the best parts of living at Saluda River Club is the proximity to nature.
“The amenities are what drew us in. You’re close to the interstate and town, but really in your own very private setting,” she says.
Leslie and David Glad moved from the San Antonio, TX area to Saluda River Club in late 2009 with their three children. The Glads are a very active family. They selected a community that was an easy drive to work, yet close to great schools and the kids sports.
The Glads chose a four-bedroom home that had just gone under construction. They worked with builder Tony Carnaggio to select flooring, paint colors and other preferences.
“It’s Really Great!”
The Glads’ older children love the freedom of playing out on the Village Green. “And we love being able to safely send them outside to enjoy other kids and get away from electronic gadgets. It’s really great!” Leslie adds.
Another favorite activity for the youngsters (and their parents!) is riding in the family’s golf cart to the River District to hike on the trails and enjoy the pools.
Leslie and David participate in adult fun, too, including ladies’ TV night and men’s card night. “We also do the monthly neighborhood get-togethers – music on the river and the back-to-school bash. We love it.”
Then there are the quiet times with neighbors on the Glad’s big front porch. From the day they moved in, the sense of community has been part of their daily lives. “We’ve made so many new friends. There’s true camaraderie here – we can really rely on one another.”
