August Activities:

Monday 8/1 – Thursday 8/4 Beach Camp ages 5-12 at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 9am-12pm
Activities include bocce ball, corn toss, frisbee, beach tennis, flip cup, ladder golf, washer boards, beach ball volleyball, and pool games.  Each camp will meet both on the Riverfront and inside the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  The cost for each camp is $60/child/week.  Each camp is Monday-Thursday.  Kids are to bring a snack and a water bottle every day.  Please email activities@saludariverclub.com to reserve a space for your child

Mondays 8/1 Ladies Bible Study at the Village Club 8-10pm
Summer Ladies Bible Study- Come join the SRC ladies as we dive into the book of James with Beth Moore’s “James Mercy Triumphs”.  This is an 8 week study that will take place on Monday nights at 8pm-10pm at the Village Clubhouse from June 6th through August 1st (with the exception of July 4th).  If you are interested, grab a copy of the book or contact Andrea Dunbar, 803-315-5787, for more information.

Wednesday 8/3 Matilda Jane First Fall Release at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 1-3pm
Come and preview Matilda Jane’s first fall 2016 release this Wednesday at the Chickawa Outdoor Center from 1-3pm.  Adorable clothing for tweens, children, and babies. The adult line is comfortable and fashionable. Don’t miss out!

Friday 8/5 Adult Social at the Village Club 7pm
Bring your favorite adult beverage, a small snack to share, and mingle with your neighbors!

Day One: What Floats Your Boat?-Boats, Buoyancy, & Density
It’s time to build a boat, test it’s capabilities, & then compete in a super ship sail–off challenge. Your kids will learn how to become a real-life captain and earn a digital badge each day to show they have mastered each scientific skill.
Day Two: Robotics & Programming-Dot to Dash!
In our robotics adventure, your child will learn to build and program robots such as Dot & Dash and use Lego bricks. Along the way, we will make the connection of the Tesla self-driving car and the engineering principles behind the concept.
Day Three: Lift-Off!
Build & Launch Rockets & Hot Air Balloons
Students will construct hot air balloons out of tissue paper and construct rockets and launch them, while understanding the concepts of flight, aerodynamic design, and hot air/cool air molecular structure.
Day Four: Virtual Reality
In our Virtual Reality exploration time, the participants will go on virtual trips to Mars, The Deep Ocean, Caves, Volcanoes and more with Google Cardboard, Near-Pod Virtual Reality, and View Master Virtual Reality tools.

Calling all rising 3rd-5th graders.  Join your neighborhood friends for a Breakout Game Activities taught and facilitated by certified teachers. “THE MAD ENGINEER: HEIST Story: The Mad Engineer is threatening to wipe out everyone’s bank accounts and use the money for future evil deeds. It’s up to you to put the Mad Engineer in his place and foil his dastardly plan!

You’re invited to a Back to School Bash at the Chickawa Outdoor Center Pool.  Enjoy complimentary concoctions from Kona Ice for the kids from 4-5pm by the pool.

Thursday 8/18 Men’s Night at the Village Club 7pm
Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.

Sunday 8/21 Damsel in Defense Event at the Village Club 3-5pm
“Our mission is to equip, empower and educate women to protect themselves and their families”. The event will feature information for protecting your loved ones, including children and teens, as well as various safety products including pepper sprays, personal alarms, stun guns, and concealed carry bags. The Damsel in Defense organization also gives back to various organizations that are making a difference in the lives of those who have been assaulted.  The Hostess is Kim Martin (803)873-4339

Tuesday 8/30 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
