Community

The rolling hills that punctuate the beautiful Saluda River Club property are home to more than 210 acres of natural space intermingled with two distinctive neighborhoods, The River District and The Village District.

The River District - A country place

The Clubhouse

Situated along the banks of the picturesque Saluda River, The River District is the community's gateway to the natural beauty of the area and offers an exceptional lifestyle unique to the Lexington area. The combination of its residential estate homes, convenient location and idyllic setting is incomparable in Columbia. The River District offers the perfect place for single-family homes and executive estates for those families drawn to a larger living environment. The homesites have been carefully planned to provide privacy, enhance the beauty of the rolling terrain and create a true connection to the river.

Living in The River District is a definitive experience offering a respite from the everyday world. Its gracious setting inspires the soul and is the perfect private enclave featuring miles of trails just perfect for walking, meandering pathways along the river and an extraordinary streetscape replete with an abundance of parks and distinctive lighting.

The Chickawa Outdoor Center is the centerpiece of The River District and features a stunning riverfront clubhouse with a grand interior fireplace, a riverside infinity pool, a large deck suited for sunbathing, a large screen porch, restrooms and changing rooms. An elevated outdoor fire pit is the hallmark of The Chickawa Outdoor Center providing the ideal setting for an afternoon get-together or twilight gathering. An adjacent riverfront observation deck offers commanding views of the Saluda.

From The River District's Chickawa Outdoor Center, residents have exceptional access to the riverfront. Trained outfitters make river adventures fun and convenient. They can help you select a kayak or canoe, recommend a course based on river conditions and even arrange a fly-fishing excursion.

The center is also the access point to the Saluda River Club's nature trail system. Whether you're looking for a half-mile stroll or up for a half-day hike, it's easy to make it happen.

The Village District - A town setting

River Club

The Village District is the heartbeat of Saluda River Club. Thoughtfully designed in the style of vintage South Carolina towns and decidedly reminiscent of Charleston, it features walking streets for easy strolls to the clubhouse, maintenance-free lawns and abundant parks where people mingle and the community comes to life.

In keeping with traditional neighborhood design, The Village District offers several housing options as diverse as the people who reside here including delightful cottages in a wide variety of sizes, single-family homes, flat-style residences and a plan for contemporary townhomes in the future.

The Village District is also home to a new urban village with easy access to the "town center" which comprises a postal center and The Village Clubhouse, a special signature destination where those twenty-one and over can enjoy a workout, a swim in the heated pool or relax with friends while having a drink after work.

There's private and social meeting space, a lounge with private wine storage, plus an onsite concierge service dedicated to making residents' lives easier and more convenient. The concierge can help arrange neighborhood social gatherings, accept packages or handle other details while Saluda River Club residents are out of town. The Village Clubhouse coffee spot is a cozy place to linger over a morning beverage, or grab coffee and a croissant on the way to work. Residents can leave town with the assurance of knowing the exterior lawn maintenance will be tended to by the Saluda River Club grounds staff.

We saw the ad in Columbia Metropolitan Magazine in Sept/Oct 08. There was a lot of buzz around the area about the community after it opened and it seemed to quickly start selling itself. The location is great for us for several reasons: the river, of course, but also the proximity to the airport and interstates for work-related travel and the school district. We're glad that our children are going to the same schools we went to. It's close to what we've always known as home. The community's amenities are great and our friends really love it too!
