Here’s what’s happening around the neighborhood!

Aquafit classes are back! Please come join your neighbors in the Village Pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm. A great workout that will challenge your muscles as well as your cardiovascular fitness! Aqua dumbells, aqua gloves, a pool noodle and water sneakers are recommended. Monday 5/8, 15, 22 American Mah Jongg at the Village Club 7pm

Thursday 5/11 Ladies Meet and Greet at the Village Club 7pm
Ladies Meet and Greet is the second Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage, a small snack to share, and mingle with your neighbors!

Sunday 5/14 Mother’s Day
Enjoy the clubhouses with your neighbors!

Tuesday 5/16 Ladies Bunco at the Village Club 7pm
Come for a night of fun with the ladies of SRC who get together on the 3rd Tuesday of every month to play bunco. We start arriving @ 7pm and play till 8:30. Bring $5 for the winners pot……never played, don’t worry, there are a few veterans to teach the rules and get the games started. Thursday 5/18 Men’s Night at the Village Club 7pm
Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.

Friday 5/19 Boomers and Beyond at the Village Club 5:30pm
Boomers (both singles and couples over 50) meet at the Village Clubhouse the third Friday of each month at 5:30pm. For May and June we have special activities planned. On May 19th we will be having a blind wine tasting. Choose your favorite from a selection of reds and whites. Guess the most and least expensive. Bring the beverage of your choice and an appetizer as usual. We will try to have the wine tasting between 6:00 and 7:00pm. For those who enjoy left center right, bring your three one dollar bills.

June 16th Mary Rickman has graciously offered to prepare a Greek dinner for us. The menu will be grilled lollipop lamb chops, Greek potatoes, salad and bread. BYOB. It would also be appreciated if some would bring desserts. There will be a charge for this dinner. I’ll have an amount closer to time. We will also need men to help clean the grill beforehand, and help with the grilling. RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED AND THOSE WITH RESERVATIONS WILL BE SERVED FIRST. Monday 5/29 Official Opening Day of the SRC Pools
While the pools at Saluda River Club are open for use all year round, the Official Opening Day of Pool Season is Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th.

Tuesday 5/30 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
The book club will be reading for May, “Once We Were Brothers” by Ronald H. Balson.
Book club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month. All are welcome to join and share your thoughts on the lastest book and give your ideas on any future reads.
