Here’s What’s Happening Around the Neighborhood this Month

There will be no BUNCO for the months of November and December.  See everyone the third Tuesday in January!

December Activities:

Wednesday 12/13, 20 Ladies Bible Study at the Village Club 7pm
Please join us for our Fall Bible Study at the Village Club on Wednesday nights.  We will be using Beth Moore’s study of the book of Daniel.

Thursday 12/14 Ladies Night/Dirty Santa Holiday Party at the Village Club 7pm
Bring a $20 gift to exchange, Something to treasure, The bigger the laugh, The greater the pleasure!  Please bring a “Dirty Santa” gift. As they say, “one’s man trash, is another man’s treasure”.  Also, bring Holiday Cookies to share and any leftover we can scatter amongst the group.

Friday 12/15 Boomers and Beyond Holiday Party at the Village Club 5:30pm
Boomers (both singles and couples over 50) meet at the Village Clubhouse the third Friday of each month at 5:30pm.  This month we’ll be celebrating the Holidays.  Wear your Holiday Attire, bring your Favorite Holiday Appetizer to share and the beverage of your choice. If you would like to play left, right, center, bring three one dollar bills per person.  Wayne Sweeney will be entertaining with Christmas Music.

Sunday 12/17 Chili & Caroling at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 4:45pm
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”
Caroling is next Sunday Dec 17th.  Please be at the Chickawa by 4:45 PM with Chili, an appetizer or dessert to share. BYOB. We need to be loaded up and ready to leave Chickawa at 5:50 PM. Here are our stops for any neighbors that want to join us or listen…
Stop 1: 6:00 At the home of Kim Cox (541 River Camp Drive)
Stop 2: 6:15 at the home of Emily Smith (183 Glade Spring Drive)
Stop 3: 6:30 At the home of Marty and Gail Elia (669 Tailwater Bend)
Stop 4: 6:45 (Fireplace area of Cottages with Jean Dyson and neighbors. Park on Ally behind Info Center in Village)
Stop 5: 7:00 (Fireplace area of Cottages with Pat Cronin and neighbors)
Stop 6: 7:15 Field in Battenkill Circle
Stop 7: 7:30 at the home of Karen Sergent. 355 River Club Road
For those of you caroling… if you can please decorate your car, golf cart, and/or trailer. Please bring flashlights and bells. We will have the lyrics for you.

Sunday 12/17 Men’s Christmas Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
What: 2 Group Discussions of “Hidden Christmas”-a Great book by Tim Keller pointing to some often overlooked aspects of Christ’s Birth that shine a light on The Gospel.  If you haven’t read any of Tim’s writing…you’re missing out.
When: November 19- 7:30PM (Discuss Chapter 1-4)
& December 17- 7:30 PM (chapter 5-8) 2 Sundays
Open to all.-  Invite any interested friends.  Go ahead and purchase a book…about $10-15. Available on Amazon and other outlets (mine came in a few days-read ahead to be able to discuss).  For each Chapter write down something that you learned, thought was interesting or a question for discussion.  Led by: Daniel Dunbar, but this will be an open discussion.

Monday 12/18 American Mah Jongg at the Village Club 7pm

Thursday 12/21 Men’s Night POKER GAME at the Village Club 7pm 
POKER GAME!!!  Lose a few old presidents & win some new friends.  Low stakes, High fun.  No experience preferred.  Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.

Tuesday 1/30 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm (Book Club will not meet in December.)
The Book Club for the months of December and January will be reading, “Beneath a Scarlet Sky, by Mark Sullivan.   This book will be discussed on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.  Book club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month.  Come share your thoughts and ideas on any further reads.  If you have any questions you can contact Pat Cronin at 803-521-9138 or email at croninp32@hotmail.com
