March Activities:

Tuesday 3/20 Ladies Bunco at the Village Club 7pm
Come for a night of fun with the ladies of SRC who get together on the 3rd Tuesday of every month to play bunco.  We start arriving @ 7pm and play till 8:30.  Bring $5 for the winners pot……never played, don’t worry, there are a few veterans to teach the rules and get the games started.  For information you can contact Pat Cronin @ 803-521-9138 or Jean Dyson @ 803-429-2349.

Wednesday 3/21, 28 Ladies Bible Study at the Village Club 7pm

Anyone interested in attending should go ahead and read through the first two weeks of the study. They are broken down by day and Saturdays and Sundays are just days to reflect.  Also, we will be beginning our next study the week after Spring Break, Wednesday, April 11th which will finish up before Summer.  Details will be provided in the next few weeks.  If anyone has questions, please email me at dhearn08@gmail.com.

Information Session for Parents of Middle/High/College Students (students welcome to attend!) 

Come learn about how we can help your student set up free checking and savings accounts and build credit.  All attendees will receive a free Financial Education Handbook to guide in educating children, by age group, about finances.  Presentation will be limited to 30 minutes with optional Q&A at the end.  Resources and Presentation by Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors:  Dave Damm & Morgan Motes (Motes & Associates) & Wealth Management Banking Specialist, Tom Clark.   Light refreshments will be served.  In case of questions about the event, those interested can contact Dave Damm at 803.540.3391.

Tuesday 3/27 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
The book club will be reading for March, “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah.  Book club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month. Kid Fit Summer Camps at Saluda River Club:
June 18-21 Sports Galore camp for ages 5-12
July 9-12 Sports Galore camp for ages 2-6
Activities include volleyball with beach balls, balloon tennis, noodle hockey, bowling, soccer, basketball, and much more.

July 16-19 Gymnastics camp for ages 2-6
Activities include mats, balance beams, trampolines, bars, rings, tumbling aids, and much more.

July 23-26 Circus camp for ages 2-6
Activities include tight wires, stilts, juggling, face painting, and much more.

Beach camp for ages 5-12
Activities include bocce ball, corn toss, frisbee, beach tennis, flip cup, ladder golf, washer boards, beach ball volleyball, and pool games.

Each camp will meet both on the Riverfront and inside the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  The cost for each camp is $60/child/week.  All campers must be potty trained.  Each camp is Monday-Thursday.  Kids are to bring a snack and a water bottle every day. Please email activities@saludariverclub.com to reserve a space for your child.

Swimming Lessons at SRC
Summer beginner and advanced beginner swimming lessons will be offered starting Monday, June 4 and run on a weekly basis, Monday through Thursday, at 9:30 and 10 AM through the end of August. Parents can sign their swimmers up for one week or multiple weeks. The cost for each week is $100 per child.

Parent/tot classes will meet on Thursdays at 10:30 AM starting June 7-which is the same schedule that they were offered in May, one day/week for four weeks at the cost of $100 for four lessons.

All lessons are 30 minutes and have no more than four swimmers per class, except the parent/tot classes, which can accommodate up to eight swimmers.

Private lessons are available on request at a different cost.

Payment for all classes will be made by check or cash on the first day of class.

Kitty has been the swim school manager for Carolina Aquatics for seven years. She has taught private and semi- private swimming lessons for 25 years in the Columbia area. She is the owner of a new swim school, Sharks&Minnows Swim School LLC, whose mission is to teach children how to swim and be safe in the water.

Commissioner’s Cup BBQ Cook-Off & Festival SC State Farmers Market

Saturday, March 24th
11am-3pm

Join us for the 7th annual Commissioner’s Cup BBQ Cook-off and Festival at the SC State Farmers Market on March 24 from 11 am- 3 pm. Tickets are $5 per person, children under 12 get in free with a 3 canned good donation to Harvest Hope Food Bank. Enjoyed tastes of South Carolina barbecue from cook teams all over the state. There will be live music, an exciting kids’ area, antique tractors, food vendors, and more!

Celtic Commotion

Friday, March 23rd 6-10pm

Join us for an evening of Celtic culture featuring great music, demonstrations, and artistic exhibitions. The show will feature traditional Celtic sounds from Palmetto Pipes and Drums and the Lift Irish Band. Celtic Rock will take the stage featuring the Philadelphia based band Barleyjuice. “With six studio albums and a double CD collection in their sporrans to date, these five spirited yanks are currently one of the most beloved Celtic rock bands in the USA” (USA Today). The evening will close with a performance from Tuatha Dea. Tuatha Dea has embraced its Celtic heritage and meshed the traditional music of Scotland, Ireland and Great Britain with the pulse-pounding heartbeat of the drums. The group’s eclectic nature also incorporates a rock, blues, new age, world and even punk edge into their repertoire of material to further widen their appeal. This will be one show you do not want to miss.
