Join us for the Spirit of Giving Challenge! We are collecting non-perishable food items for Harvest Hope Food Bank and new unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army. Collection boxes will be at the Village Clubhouse and the event locations listed below during the month of December.

Holiday Decorating Contest
Break out the tinsel and lights, all residents are encouraged to take part in this contest by decorating the outside of your homes for the holidays. Judging will take place the week of December 19th. Several prizes will be awarded including the infamous Griswold Award!
Annual Ugly Sweater Party
Saturday, December 17th, 7-11pm, Chickawa Outdoor Center
Dust off your finest knits from years past and join us for the 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Party. $5 per person will go into “The Pot” to be divided amongst the male and female voted as having the UGLIEST SWEATER. Please bring your favorite cocktail and a heavy appetizer or dessert to share with the group. RSVP by December 10th and please include your menu item.

Sports and Swim Camp
August 8th – 11th, 9am-12pm
Chickawa Outdoor Center
We will introduce your child to many different sports, teach them the rules, and keep them moving all morning long! We cover bowling, Frisbee, soccer, volleyball, tennis, noodle hockey, and more. We make all of our sports and games every kid-friendly so they experience instant success instead of frustration. The last hour of this camp will be spent in the pool doing pool sports and games. Each child should bring a healthy snack and water bottle each day. We will have snack break and normally do a craft related to each day’s activities. There is no performance on the last day of this camp. However, we will give out awards on the final day of camp. Minimum of 8 campers needed.

Teen Time Ice Cream Social
Thursday, June 2nd, 2-4pm, Chickawa Pool Deck,
Attention all rising 6th graders and older. School is out early, so let’s gather on the Chickawa pool deck to enjoy an ice cream sundae. Parents can enjoy a little free time while we chat about fun things to do this summer like movies, activities and volunteer rewards.

Kid Fit Circus Camp
June 6th-June 9th, 9am-12pm, Chickawa Riverfront
Children 2 to 12 years old will enjoy circus activities that will focus on hand-eye coordination such as juggling, rings, objects to tumble on, trampolines and more! $40 for the first child and 10% off the second or third. Each camp includes snack and craft time. Must have a minimum of 8 campers per class.

Toddler Swim Time

You’re invited to join your neighbors and their little ones at the Village Club pool for Toddler Swim Time. This is open for age infant to 2 years old. Come enjoy splashing around for an hour of fun at the pool.

This class was so deliciously fun the first time around, we decided to bring it back for those of you who might have missed it. Come join Chef Chris Rawlings as he teaches us how to create gourmet chocolates and then pair them with fine micro-brewed beers. Even if you don’t like beer you might be surprised what you find.

Beach Body Boot Camp
Tuesdays and Thursday, April 5th –April 28th
Come join SRC’s personal trainer, Jeremy, for a high intensity boot camp to help shed some pounds and shape your body. This boot camp will consist of eight evening workouts during the month of April. Boot Camp will involve a variety of activities, including body weight exercises, core strengthening workouts, and targeted muscle strengthening activities. We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday evenings down near the river, as weather permits, from 6-7pm.

Wine Lottery-White Wines from Napa Valley

Don’t miss out on the fun! Each participating couple or individual will bring two bottles of the same wine. The label will be covered on one bottle and the second bottle will be put aside. The group will sample and score each wine. If your wine is judged as one of the top three bottles, you will win a portion of the unopened bottles. This time we will taste white wines from Napa Valley. Light appetizers will be served.

This tasting is inspired by Valentine’s Day and the most romantic city in the world, Paris. Each participating couple or individual will bring two bottles of the same red wine from France. One bottle will be blindfolded and the second will be put aside. The group will sample and score each wine. If your wine scores in the top three, you will leave with a portion of the unopened bottles. Light snacks will be served. RSVP by February 7th. All wine must be given to Stephanie by 5pm on February 11th.

Parent’s Night Out
Tuesday, December 21st, 6-8pm, Information Center
Get your last minute Christmas shopping done, wrap presents, or get a bite to eat while your children learn how to make pasta with the Young Chef’s Academy. We’ll make the pasta dough, roll it out and cut the noodles. The kids can invent their own butter and herb sauce. We will make a French Crepe filled with creamy chocolate mousse and they’ll also get to decorate a Christmas Cookie to take home. The cost is $20 per child. RSVP by December 13.
New Year’s Eve Party
