Developers plan to build a 14-screen multiplex movie theater in Lexington next year, which would bring to market the largest cinema house in the county at a historic landmark location.

Groundbreaking for the 55,000-square-foot movie complex at Corley Mill Retail Shopping development is planned for January, and developers said Friday they hope to open the 2,800-seat cinema by late October or early November 2012.

The movie complex will be part of the Corley Mill Retail Shopping center planned for the eastern end of the town of Lexington on U.S. 378.
