New Lexington Schools to Open

]]> Meadow Glen Elementary School, currently under construction at 510 Ginny Lane in Lexington, will open for the 2011-2012 school year. Cheryl Fralick has been named as principle of the new elementary school. Fralick has been with Lexington One School District since 1998 and was principle of Midway Elementary from 2005 – 2010. In 2012, Saluda River Club middle school kids will attend the new middle school, Meadow Glen Middle, and then in 2013 our high school kids will go to the new River Bluff High.

Celebrating the Holidays on the Saluda

]]> Saluda River Club homeowners, guests and prospective homeowners enjoyed an evening of fun for all ages at the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  Christmas trees made out of balloon animals, festive hats in the shapes of reindeer, elves and Santa were included in the holiday cheer.  Children created holiday ornaments and decorated candy canes.  Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner and shared holiday wishes.

“The Saluda River Club team put together another wonderful event for the community.  This type of gathering and this fabulous location to have it are among the many reseasons we’re happy to live at  Saluda River Club.”

Columbia Area Ranks #12 in Forbes Study

]]> According to the Forbes.com  report on America’s Best Bang-for-the-buck Cities, solid housing markets, relatively stable employment, enviable cost of living and quick commutes are the key features of the country’s most affordable and desirable places to live.  Buyers are also looking for places with natural amenities and protection from future commercial growth. 

Columbia, South Carolina ranked number 12 out of the 100 cities studied. 

Saluda River Club’s unique river amenities and the variety of home styles and prices give Columbia area buyers superior value and a great location.

Forbes looked at the country’s 100 largest Metropolitan Statistical Areas — geographic entities defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.  Included in the measures were: home prices; unemployment rates; a three-year job-growth forecast; a three-year home-price forecast; housing affordability; median real estate taxes; and median travel time to work.

Learn From the Best

]]> Saluda River Club is located in Lexington District One, one of the largest and most prestigious districts in the state. Home to 26 schools, including: 14 elementary schools, one intermediate school, six middle schools, four high schools and an innovative technology center.

In the past few years, the District One School Board has undertaken and completed numerous improvements, new construction projects, expansions and renovations to the existing schools, as well as adding four new high school stadiums. These construction improvements reflect the school board’s attempt to keep pace with the ever increasing academic achievements of the students enrolled in District One Schools.

Lexington District One is known for the outstanding academic achievements of its students. Scoring above the state and national SAT average for 17 years in a row, Lexington District One 2008 graduates received over $31 million in scholarships, according to the district’s website. The site also notes that Lexington District One also boasted 209 South Carolina Junior Scholars in 2008. Additionally, foreign languages are offered at all levels in the schools. For extracurricular activities, the schools are known for hosting award-winning musical and athletic programs.

So why pay for a private school education when you can get a top-rated education in one of the state’s most prestigious public school systems?
