Andy White Wins Gordon A. Harrison Award

Andy White of Edge City Homes and partner in Lifestone Communities, developer of Saluda River Club, is this year’s recipient of the Gordon A. Harrison Award.

Presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia (HBA) and sponsored by Stock Building Supply, the award is given each year to an outstanding home builder in the spirit of the man it is named after. According to the HBA; “Harrison is remembered for his high personal character and integrity as well as his commitment to helping others.”

White has been a member of the HBA since 1997. He served as President of the Home Builders Association in 2003 and as Chairman of the HBA of South Carolina Legislative Committee in 2000, 2002 and from 2008 to present. The work of the Legislative Committee is vital to the association and all members throughout the state. Under White’s leadership the Association has gained many legislative victories on behalf of the industry including legislation to limit the abuse of impact fees on housing, property tax reform and a moratorium on a mandate for fire sprinklers in new homes.

White’s great commitment to his work has far exceeded expectations with Saluda River Club, a Gold Medal Winner for the nation’s Best Smart Growth Neighborhood and the site of the 2008 Parade of Homes.

Judging Results are in for the HBA Tour of Homes

Saluda River Club builder, Lifestone Residential received two “Best Overall” designations by the HBA Tour of Homes judges. “The Columbia 4” and “The Cullowhee” both by Lifestone Residential, were award for homes priced $301,000 to 400,000 and $401,000 to 500,000.

The Cullowhee is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home, designed for the family that appreciates openness.

The Columbia 4 is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home with classic good looks.

The Home Builders Association of South Carolina held the annual Pinnacle Awards last week to recognize outstanding craftsmanship in the construction of quality homes and outstanding marketing of homes and communities throughout South Carolina. The Pinnacle Awards are the most prestigious awards given by the Home Builders Association.

Saluda River Club Receives 5 REGAL Real Estate Awards

Popular Community Honored for Home Designs, Marketing and Website.

Saluda River Club, one of the top-selling new home communities in the Columbia / Lexington, SC area, was recognized February 19 with 5 REGAL awards. The REGAL program is sponsored by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builder Association of Greater Columbia. The awards are presented to “real estate’s greatest achievers and leaders” at an annual gala.

Exciting News for Saluda River Club and Two Terrific Builders

Earlier this summer, the Homebuilders Association of Greater Columbia presented the 2010 Tour of Homes, Columbia’s Largest Open House of New Homes.   Two of the homes built in Saluda River Club won Best Overall Home in their category.

“The Logan”  by Paradime Construction won Best Overall in the category of $301,000-$400,000.
“The Heathwood” by Vesta Builders won Best Overall in the category of $501,000 – $750,000. 

Saluda River Club congratulates these builders and are proud of their work within our community.

Saluda River Club Wins HBA Pinnacle Awards

The Home Builders Association of South Carolina held the annual Pinnacle Awards last week to recognize outstanding craftsmanship in the construction of quality homes and outstanding marketing of homes and communities throughout South Carolina. 

Saluda River Club was awarded “Overall Winner” in three categories and “Finalist” in two categories. 

The community was awarded the overall winner for Best Brochure/Direct Mail, Best Website for a Community and Best Community Entrance/ Presentation.

Saluda River Club was a finalist in two categories:  Best Color Ad Full Page and Best Product in the home category of $200,000 – $499,000 for “The Charleston” by Lady Street Builders.

Kind Words from the Lexington County Council!

Visits to the Lexington County Council are usually pretty serious affairs, with lots of talk about zoning, property lines and that kind of thing.  But there was definitely a lighter feeling in the air at a recent meeting when the Council honored Saluda River Club for winning the Best in American Living Award (BALA) for Community Design. 

Bill Theus, Walter Taylor, Andy White and other members of our team were on hand when the Council issued a resolution congratulating us on the BALA award.  The prestigious design competition is sponsored each year by Professional Builder magazine and by the National Association of Home Builders.  

The BALA award was presented earlier this year in Las Vegas at the NAHB International Builders’ Show (yes, we certainly did attend and had a fabulous time!).  Saluda River Club is only the second South Carolina community, and the first in Columbia, to receive it. 

We’ve framed the resolution and hung it with pride in our conference room.  Winning the award was so satisfying…and getting an official pat on the back from the Lexington County Council was pretty sweet, as well!
