Free Health Screening
Friday, April 6th, 7:30-10:30am, Chickawa Outdoor Center
Take advantage of this free health screening courtesy of Lexington Medical Center. Screening includes blood pressure, lipids, cholesterol, glucose, iron, men over 40 will receive a PSA test. You will receive your screening results via confidential mail and/or telephone call. Contact Stephanie White to make your appointment by April 2nd

Wine, Whine & Art Class
Tuesday, April 10th, 7-9pm, Chickawa Outdoor Center
SRC has partnered with the Tapp’s Art Center for a fun night of painting…whining if you wish…and wine if you choose!. We’ll begin with painting a wine glass, then work on an acrylic landscape on canvas. The cost is $20 per person and includes all materials and, of course, the wine.

Bunco is the second Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage, a snack and $5 to contribute to the pot.

Let’s do some spring cleaning with a community wide yard sale. All participants will be responsible for bringing any necessary tables, clothing racks, etc. and we’ll take care of the advertising. Furry Friends Meet & Greet
Sunday, April 22nd, 3pm, Chickawa Riverfront
Grab that leash and head down to the Riverfront to mingle with neighbors and meet their precious pups. Enjoy the walking trails or stroll over to the doggie park to let them run free.

Swapholics Anonymous

Gather up your gently used house hold accessories and décor and bring them to the Chickawa for some retail therapy For each item you donate, you will receive a ticket and a shopping bag. We ask that you bring a minimum of 5 items, maximum of 20. Leave your wallets at home, but do bring your favorite beverages.

Saluda River Club Homeowners Gather for Final Four Party

Join your Saluda River Club neighbors for a March Madness Final Four Party this Saturday, March 31st at the Village Clubhouse. Residents are invited to gather at the clubhouse with friends and neighbors for the games. Cheer on your favorite teams and try to get more points in your bracket!

The Kentucky vs. Louisville game starts at 6:09 pm and Kansas vs. Ohio State is at 8:49 pm. Whoever you are rooting for, we look forward to seeing you there! Design Your Own Summer Camp at Saluda River Club

Are you looking for fun activities to do with your children this summer? Don’t worry about costly summer camps – create your own right here at Saluda River Club! With so much to do around the community, you can design your own camp with different activities each day!

Plan a camping trip to the camping area on the riverfront, head to the pool for a day of splashing and fun in the sun, or go kayaking on the river. Enjoy a day at the playground, swing as high as you can, or take a hike or ride on the nature trails. Roast marshmallows at the firepits, go fishing and see what you catch, or do arts and crafts on the Village Green. Whatever it is that you and your children like to do, Saluda River Club has plenty of options to keep you busy all summer long!

Great Turnout for Saluda River Club’s St. Patrick’s Day Party

Saluda River Club’s St. Patrick’s Day party was a huge success on Saturday, March 17th. Residents came out for the parade through the community to the Chickawa Outdoor Center. Dressed in green and ready to celebrate, the kids enjoyed plenty of games like wacky waiter, speed races and potato sack races.

It was a beautiful day on the riverfront where adults relaxed with friends and neighbors throughout the festivities. The weather was nice and the sun was shining to make the St. Patrick’s Day party a perfect Saluda River Club event. We hope you enjoyed it!

So Much to Do Around Saluda River Club This Weekend

If you live in Saluda River Club, you know there is always something going on either in our neighborhood or the surrounding area! If you are looking for fun events this weekend around our community, here are a few ideas.

Looking for a laugh? The Royal Comedy Tour will be at the Township Auditorium on Friday, 3/2 at 8pm featuring legendary comedians Sommore, Earthquake, Mark Curry and Tony Rock. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster. If you are looking for something classic to see, The King and I is playing at the Village Square Theatre this weekend.

If you want to spend some time outdoors at an event, enjoy the official kick-off to Saint Pat’s and the Battle of the Bands on Friday from 5-10pm. Held at Five Points on the Corner of Harden and Greene Street, admission is free and there is fun for the whole family. Have the kids help dye the fountain green while enjoying Irish dancers, bagpipers, Logan the leprechaun and more. Stay for the 5th annual Battle for Saint Pat’s outdoor show.

This weekend is the Craftsmens Spring Classic Art & Craft Festival at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. The 29th annual festival will showcase hundreds of booths with one-of-a-kind treasures from artists and craftsmen around the nation.

If you are looking for something active to do, join the annual March for Meals 5k Run/Walk at the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden on Saturday, 3/3 at 7:30am. All proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels!

Put on your GREEN, decorate your bike, golf cart, stroller or wagon for a St. Patty’s Day Parade to the Chickawa Outdoor Center. Enjoy an afternoon of family games and light snacks. We always need spectators on the parade route, so put on your green and cheer for the parade!

Anti-Bullying Program
Friday, March 30th, 6-8pm, Chickawa Outdoor Center
Hosted by Carter’s Academy of Self-Defense, the Anti-Bully class is for youth ages 5 to 12. Students will be taught effective self-defense techniques in order to resolve, handle and stop conflict. Additionally, students begin to understand self-control, courtesy and discipline during the program. Techniques are all non-violent control tactics.

Singles Night
Friday, March 30th
Bring your single friends and enjoy a relaxed evening with neighbors. Singles Night is the last Friday of every month. More details coming soon.

Easter Egg Hunt on the River

Saluda River Club has partnered with Saxe Gotha Presbyterian to host an Easter Egg Hunt on the beautiful Chickawa Riverfront. Enjoy light refreshments and a fun day of hunting for Easter Eggs.

Huge Turnout for Super Bowl Sunday at Saluda River Club

We had an incredible turnout for Sunday’s Super Bowl Pot Luck Party at Saluda River Club. The event was held at the Chickawa Outdoor Center and was complete with hot cocoa, marshmallow roasting, and of course, a big screen television airing the most watched football game of the season.

Over fifty Saluda River Club residents, some dressed in their favorite team apparel, watched the game on the big screen with their neighbors.  Everyone snacked on homemade appetizers and delicious desserts while sipping on drinks of their choice for the big game.

Stephanie White, full-time Lifestyle Director for Saluda River Club, was excited about the great turnout for the first event of the year and is looking forward to amazing attendance at all of the big events for 2012. Super Bowl Sunday at Saluda River Club

Saluda River Club residents will celebrate the Super Bowl in style this weekend at the Super Bowl Pot Luck Party. Held at the Chickawa Outdoor Center, Saluda’s full-time Lifestyle Director, Stephanie White, has everything ready to make this Super Bowl as exciting to watch as if the Panthers were in it.

Complete with a big screen television, marshmallows to roast and hot cocoa, residents are to bring their favorite drink (don’t forget drinks for the kids as well!) and a snack or dessert to share with their neighbors.

The first event of the year, the Super Bowl Party is sure to be a blast with plenty of yelling at the TV, cheering and excitement. We can’t wait to see all of our wonderful residents for our first event of 2012. We are looking forward to an event-filled year and can’t wait to start it off right –see you there!

Lake Murray Junior Women’s Club works to improve the Lake Murray community

On Monday night, Jan 9 2012, the charter members of the Lake Murray Junior Women’s Club held their meeting at Saluda River Club’s Village Club. This club hopes to have their monthly meetings somewhere in the SRC community with hopes that residents will join this dynamic group of ladies as they emphasize issues dealing with: education, health, home life, and community service projects–aiming to improve the Lake Murray community.
