April Activities:

Monday 4/4 Jr. Women’s Club Meeting at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 6-8pm
Join the Junior Women’s Club of Lake Murray on Monday, 4/4 at the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  We are a non-profit women’s volunteer organization that aims to better the Lake Murray Community through volunteer service. Please join us as our guest!

Monday 4/4 Book Club Special Event at the Village Club 7pm
The Book Club of SRC is proud to present Columbia’s own Carla Damron, author of “The Stone Necklace”.  Plan to spend some time with the author as she takes us thru her riveting debut novel….Carla has brought attention to Columbia, SC in her book as Pat Conroy has to the Low Country.   All are welcome to attend!  Come and enjoy a night of socializing with fellow readers at the Village Club on April 4th at 7 PM.  Refreshments will be served.

Fridays 4/8, 15, 22, 29 Baby/Toddler Play Time at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 10am
Pack up your baby or toddler, coffee to go, and a few books or toys to share and join the SRC Moms for a playdate at the Chickawa Outdoor Center.

Saturday 4/9 Spring Yard Sale 7-11am
Get rid of some things you don’t need and make a little cash!  We’ll place an ad in The State Newspaper, post the event on Facebook, and place a sign out at the front of the community.  Just bring your tables to the Village Green lawn.  If you live on River Club Drive from the main entrance to the Village Green, you can set out your things for sale along the street.

Saturday 4/9 Woodlands District Block Party 12-2pm
Calling all Residents for a Block Party in the Woodlands District on Watershed Lane!  Bring a Picnic Side Dish to share and BYOB!  See you there!

Saturday 4/9 Beer Tasting at the Village Club 7pm
Join and discover a new brew or two at the SRC beer tasting!  Bring either two 12 oz bottles/cans or one 22 oz bottle of a beer you would like to try and share!  Tasting glasses and snacks provided.  The more people, the more styles to try!

Sunday 4/10, 17, 24 Men’s Book/Bible Study at the Village Club 8:15-9:15pm
Join your fellow SRC Men for an 8 week Book/Bible Study of The Resolution for Men (by Stephen and Alex Kendrick).  This is a scripture based book that challenges men to live courageously for their faith and their families.  It addresses some very important issues and doesn’t shy away from the tough issues men deal with.  The group meetings would mainly be talking as a group over some discussion questions related to the chapters for that particular week.  If you’re interested, please go ahead and buy the book. (John Payne put us on this one and it is definitely worth reading.)  Schedule: 4-3-16 Intro & Ch. 1&2, 4-10-16 Ch. 3&4, 4-17-16 Ch. 5&6, 4-24-16 Ch. 7&8, 5-1-16 Ch. 9&10, Skip Mother’s Day, 5-15-16 Ch. 11&12, 5-22-16 Ch. 13&14, 5-29-16 Ch. 15&appendices.

Thursday 4/14 Ladies Meet & Greet at the Village Club 7pm
Ladies Meet and Greet is the second Thursday of every month.  Bring your favorite beverage and a snack to share.

Sunday 4/17 Craft Show Spring Fling at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 5-7:30pm & Men Only After Hours 7:30-8pm
Come out and kick off spring, summer, and Mother’s Day shopping early right here in the SRC as our local resident vendors and long time favorites debut their spring lines just for you!!  Open to resident vendors to apply and return application and fee by 3/15 email asdonley@icloud.com

Tuesday 4/19 Matilda Jane Trunk Show at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 6-9pm
Come take a look at Matilda Jane’s gorgeous 2016 spring line! This line features beautiful, comfortable apparel for women and girls of all ages. Hope to see you there!

Wednesday 4/20 Carolina Wildlife Center Wild Wonders Program at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 3pm
Let’s celebrate the ½ day of school at the Chickawa Outdoor Center!  Join Carolina Wildlife Center for an afternoon of animal encounters designed to enlighten and excite participants to the wonders of the natural world.

Thursday 4/21 Men’s Night at the Village Club 7pm
Men’s Night is the Third Thursday of every month. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack.  We may decide to play cards, but we’ll also be kicking back this month!

Tuesday 4/26 Book Club at the Village Club 7:30pm
The Book Club has chosen to honor the late Pat Conroy by reading one of his earlier books, “The Water is Wide” for April.  Book club discussions are held at the Village Club at 7:30 on the last Tuesday of the month.  Come share your thoughts on the latest book and give ideas on any future reads.  If you have any questions you can contact Pat Cronin at 803-521-9138 or email atcroninp32@hotmail.com

Wednesday 4/27 Dinner at the Chickawa Outdoor Center 5:30pm
Enjoy a weeknight free from cooking!  Join your neighbors for Dinner on Wednesday 4/27 at the Chickawa Outdoor Center or swing by and make up to-go box!  On the Menu…Seasoned Grilled Chicken with Sauteed Vegetables, Rice Pilaf, Cranberry Feta Spinach Salad and Petit Fours for Dessert!  Please make checks payable to Momma Rabbit’s and drop them off at the Info Center no later than Monday 4/25 at 5pm.  Adults are $12.50 and Children are $6.50.

Saturday 5/7 Summer Mini Photography Sessions on the Riverfront
Nicole Demick Photograph is excited to announce summer mini sessions for you and your family on May 7th.  This year we will be offering a camping scene and a picnic scene for the props for the mini sessions.  Price is $100 for 7 edited images on high resolution CD, $150 for 10 edited images on high resolution CD and an accordion album.  All packages include right to reprint and up to an hour session time.  Book now by calling 704-701-8295, or by emailingnicoledemick2009@hotmail.com.

Join BARRE3 Saturday, May 14th at 9:30pm on The Riverfront.  Inspired by ballet barre, yoga, and Pilates, our instructors will guide you through a specific sequence of movements that tone and lengthen all major muscle groups, rev your heart rate, and strengthen your body.  Bring a yoga mat or towel, a water bottle, and get ready to sweat and have a great time!  The class is one hour, followed by mimosas, raffles, free class cards and more!  RSVP toLauren.Truslow@barre3.com

Saturday 5/14 South Carolina VisionWalk at Saluda Shoals Park 9am
Join your neighbor Kelly Spears and Team Libby’s at the 3rd Annual South Carolina VisionWalk on Saturday, May, 14, 2016 at Saluda Shoals Park.Registration begins at 9am and the Walk at 10am. This will be a fun family event with activities and music. They will be there raising money and awareness for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.  The mission of the FFB is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected with Retinitis Pigmentosa, an inherited disease that causes retinal degeneration. This cause is close to Kelly and her family because her father and two aunts lost their vision to RP in their youth. Kid Fit Summer Camps at Saluda River Club:

June 20-23, 9am-12pm, Sports Camp ages 5-12
July 11-14, 9am-12pm, Sports Camp ages 2-6
Activities include volleyball with beach balls, balloon tennis, noodle hockey, bowling, soccer, basketball, and much more.

July 18-21, 9am-12pm, Gymnastics Camp ages 2-6
Activities include mats, balance beams, trampolines, bars, rings, tumbling aids, and much more.

July 25-28, 9am-12pm, Circus Camp ages 2-6
Activities include tight wires, stilts, juggling, face painting, and much more.

August 1-4, 9am-12pm, Beach Camp ages 5-12
Activities include bocce ball, corn toss, frisbee, beach tennis, flip cup, ladder golf, washer boards, beach ball volleyball, and pool games.

Each camp will meet both on the Riverfront and inside the Chickawa Outdoor Center.  The cost for each camp is $60/child/week.  All campers must be potty trained.  Each camp is Monday-Thursday.  Kids are to bring a snack and a water bottle every day.  Please emailactivities@saludariverclub.com to reserve a space for your child.
