Lexington High School
Grades Nine – Twelve
Lexington High School has been "Empowering 21st Century Learners" for years. The second largest public high school in South Carolina, Lexington High was the first and is the only high school in the state to be selected twice as the Carolina First Palmetto's Finest.
At Lexington High, excellence is the standard. Lead by Principal Melissa Rawl, an LHS alumnus herself, the home of the Wildcats prides itself on technological advancement, even giving each high school student their own iPad in order to "close the gap between schools, education and the real world," according to Lexington School District One Superintendent Karen Woodward.
Lexington High School is an International Baccalaureate World School, awarding its first IB diplomas in 2008. This program challenges students academically while preparing them for continuing education. The program is globally recognized by some of the top universities.
Lexington High was awarded a 5-Star School Award from SchoolDigger.com and a distinguished GreatSchools.org rating of 10 out of 10. LHS is ranked as number 7 out of 212 high schools in South Carolina, according to SchoolDigger.com.
